Treatment Supervisor Brachytherapy - Radiation Therapist Wellington

The Wellington Blood and Cancer Centre at Wellington Hospital is seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist (RT) for a full time, senior position as Brachytherapy Treatment Supervisor in our progressive centre.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and forward thinking radiation therapist to be an integral member of an award winning team dedicated to provision of high quality patient focused radiation treatment service at Capital and Coast District Health Board.

Our service is located in the newly built Wellington Hospital which has a complement of modern equipment and a dedicated HDR brachytherapy procedure room within cancer services. Other equipment includes three linacs with IGRT/VMAT/FFF/Gating and Stereotactic options, CT, networked and integrated single vendor based treatment planning, patient management and treatment system. Superficial x-ray and access to MR and PET imaging are also available.

The Brachytherapy Treatment Supervisor works in partnership with others, to co-ordinate the Brachytherapy service and be the radiation therapist planning and treatment expert in the area.

DUTIES

· Responsible for day to day operations in rostered area

· Provide expert clinical advice

· Contribute to service developments.

· Lead brachytherapy training and staff orientation

· Participate in quality initiatives

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Sound post-qualification experience with a focus on HDR brachytherapy is a distinct advantage.

· Registered or eligible for registration with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board

· Have organisational and time management skills

· Demonstrates leadership and works well in multidisciplinary teams
