This vacancy is part-time hours (negotiable up to 0.7FTE) for a Sonographer performing a dual role providing ultrasound imaging to Radiology Services & the Women’s Health service. We have permanent and temporary hours within both departments.

The Radiology service is multi-disciplinary, employing Radiologists, Nurses, Administration Support Staff and Medical Imaging Technologists and is a training institution for Radiology Registrar’s, MITs and Sonographers. The services support tertiary Radiology imaging for the lower North Island and upper south island capturing a population of over one million people.

The multidisciplinary team in Women’s Health Service is dedicated to ensuring excellence in obstetric and gynaecological care. Service provides an integrated mix of inpatient/outpatient/day patient and domiciliary services. Services are delivered in Wellington and Kenepuru hospitals, Kapiti Health Centre, out-reach clinics and domiciliary midwifery services. A dedicated Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Department sits within Women’s’ health.

The majority of Sonographers are rostered across both areas and enjoy working closely with both teams. In both areas we undertake regular training/upskilling in subspecialist areas (e.g. MFM, Vascular, MSK)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Registered and licenced Sonographer with the MRTB

• Experience in some or all:

o Abdominal scanning

o Small parts

o Vascular

o MSK

o Paediatric

o Gynecological (performed in Women’s department)

o Perinatal (performed in Women’s department)
